The Governance

The Renault-Polytechnique-HEC Chair is under the responsibility of an incumbent appointed by the École Polytechnique and a co-incumbent appointed by the Groupe HEC. Eric Godelier is the initial incumbent and Eve Chiapello is the co-incumbent.

A Comité d’Orientation et d’Évaluation has been created and includes six members each representing a partner, and three qualified personalities. Their mission is to supervise and control the Chair’s activity, verify the allocation of amounts granted in the Chair’s annual budget and examine the progress report prepared by the Steering Committee.

The Steering Committee, chaired by the holder of the Chair, also includes the co-incumbent, two members representing the schools and two members of the Renault Foundation. The committee ensures that research themes, education programs and activities conducted as part of the Chair are defined and respected. It determines the subjects of research papers in connection with, but not exclusively, Renault, mainly proposed by the Renault Foundation after careful consideration by an internal committee at Renault. The Steering Committee organizes partnerships with foreign universities and companies (in France or abroad) open to participating in the development of the Chair. It is responsible for awarding grants, organizing internships and seminars, and defining the communication policy for the Chair’s progress.

The Chair is financed by the Renault Foundation for five years, from September 2007 to August 2012.
